I'm Peter O'Reilly, one of the growing number of Alexander Technique
teachers here in Portland. I trained in Munich with Mary Holland, and was
admitted to the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (London) in 1988. The pages that follow describe how the Alexander Technique got started, and will give you some idea of how it has helped so many. To experience the lively quiet that comes when reactions are deliberately suspended, get some hands-on help from an Alexander
teacher. I know of no better way to "avail your self of your own design." If you live outside the Portland area, find a certified teacher through the American Society for the Alexander Technique.
